look up 仰视,向上看,但要看什么东西,必须加at .即:look up at sb./sth.
He looked straight up at her mother.他抬头直直地看着他妈妈.
又如:Look up at the lights over your head .抬头看你头上的灯.

这里的两个介词分别表示两个意思，up表示视线的方向，at表示视线的落点。
