两个都行.这要看你如何理解.
如果是把along the road看成是the trees的定语的话,那就是第一种做法.
如果是把along the road看成是地点状语的话,那就是第二种做法.
本人认为第二种做法更好些.

也可以，但the tree along the road 连在一起更好
the worker along the road ，会让人产生歧义，如果将the worker改为the workers,人们容易理解为路边的许多工人在修剪树。

along the road 修饰the trees，指沿路的树木，应连在一起。你这样写，变成along the road 修饰the worker了（指沿路的工人了），会引起歧义的
