i like the place ( ) is interesting.
空格用that正确,定语从句中缺主语,而that能做主语.where做状语,表状态.
I like the place where we can do a lot of interesting things together.
这里,where 前后的句子都完整,在定语从句中,where做状语时,其实可以把它看成是特殊的连词,有意义的连词（个人见解）.普通连词可以无意义,如,I think (that) I love you ,这个宾语从句中,that时连词,无意义,只连接作用,这里可省略.
