Honorable judges,ladies and gentlemen:
My topic today is that the word “love” has changed the world.
All human beings are emotional,they can lose many things but love.
Love not only continues human life and multiplies human world,but also change the world more or less in its own way.
Love guides people to contributing to the advancement of the world often under the disguise of patriotism,sympathy and gratitude.
When we talk about Ai Qing,a famous modern poet,I believe not only the 1930s’ Chinese people were touched and roused by the solemn and stirring lines in his “My Love for the Land”:“Why,in my eyes,do tears always well up?Because my love for the land is so deep...” Here we can see,at the critical moment when our vast territory was lost and our nation at risk,a Chinese young poet indignantly appeal to the nation’s patriotism and the world’s sense of justice to resist the Japanese militarism,which greatly inspired the Chinese people and finally destroyed the invaders,drove them out of our territory.
As we all know,May12,2008 witnessed a terrible disaster in Sichuan Province and a great loss of fresh lives,but the deep sympathy of all the Chinese people and even of the word for the sufferers alleviated the pain and made the situation for the better,especially the moving stories from the donation site.
An old beggar in Nanjing donated 5yuan at noon,and in the afternoon he came to donating box again and put 100yuan in it.He said that all the money he had was small changes,so he collected all his money and got it changed in the bank and came here again.Although he cannot speak mandarin well nor could he write,and needy as he was,his care and love for those needy forever wins respect from and sets a good example for the people who knows his story.
Love is sometimes cloaked in gratitude.It is natural that we are very grateful to those who have sacrificed for us or helped us.
We are grateful to our parents because it is them that gave birth to us and have brought us up.It is them that have worked so hard in order to support us.It is them that will never leave us whenever we meet with any difficulties.
We show our gratitude to our friends since without them our life will be so boring.They bring laughter to us,they share sorrow with us,they will be there for us whenever we need them,they are part of our lives.
We are very thankful to those people who once helped us.We are even grateful to our opponents or enemies because it is them that teach us how to survive.
No matter where and when love is,it ceaselessly delivers itself from one person to another and travels from one place to another,warming and improving people on its way around the world.Always remember to love,cherish the power to love,for love unites humanity and the world.
