whether or not 更倾向于“无论是否”的含义.
该句中文：他们是否支持我们仍然未知.
而不是“无论他们是否支持我们,都不知道”,显然or not加上是不太恰当的.
再比如“I don't agree with his decision whether he is right or not.”
中文意思：不论他对否﹐我都不同意他的决定.
这里显然就必须是whether or not.
