感觉楼主的译法有点像中式英文了.
楼主你先将中文的意思弄明白,再根据外国人的思维去想一想怎样译就OK了,不必在乎语句有多华丽,能看得懂就可以了.
本人是这样译的：people always feel unhappy for being happier than others rather than pursuing happiness.
人们总是觉得不开心因为他们想比别人幸福而不是追求幸福.
你觉得这句跟你所想表达的意思接不接近?
