初中英语rather than 的用法,
My grandfather likes ()(do) something rather than ()(do) nothing .喜欢做点什么,而不喜欢闲着.如果第一个（）填doing,那么第二空填do 还是 doing?rather than 前后时态不是要一致吗?那么应该填doing?

ather than跟情态动词would,should,will等连用构成固定搭配,有时rather than可以分开,意为“宁可”、“与其……倒不如”
例如：
prefer to do rather than do
would do rather than do
would rather do than do
在这里,rather than作准并列连词,相等于and not,只能连接词性相同的词项
所以是doing

我问了6个英语老师，有2个说do的，4个说doing的。其中一个的理由是rather than 后只能接动词原形，另一个说很少有这样用的，do好一些。有没有这种理由

其实我最开始也有这种考虑，但确实同时存在do和doing这两种用法，do的口感更好一点，但doing的感觉更贴近纯英文的感觉。建议写doing。
