这个只是翻译时候的中文习惯用语.
in some time,本就用来表示在多长时间内.
by sometime,（直接连起来的,没有空格的sometime）到某个时间为止,截止于.时间.
in time及时
on time 准时
at the time of在某一时间点,某一时刻.
in the time of 在某一段时间内.
至于那一句it would strike twelve in twenty minutes' time直接翻译是,它将会在20分钟之内走到12.那如果让你直接所中文的话,你会怎么说：它将会在20分钟之后到12.
如果表示多长时间之后,after some time这里是有空格的.
有空格跟没空格就是好比somebody 和some people的区别,某个人和一些人的区别
