B,可能你会觉得C也对.
但是在分词做状语中,一般倾向于直接用过去分词做状语.
一般用being表正在进行（从were可以看出已经发生过了）,或用being+形容词表原因比较多.

还有就是词组的问题。学生们迷路了。可以说：Students are lost.(lose用过去分词) 或者：Students are missing.(miss用现在分词)

用过去分词可以既表被动，又表完成，所以A这个答案显得累赘了。别人一般不会这样说。
