这个结构如果充当状语就正确,如果说是句子,就不正确.
because of + the merits （由于优点）
which引导定语从句,修饰the merits
由于胜过那些缺点的优点,（这是状语的）后面应该还有句子吧?

当然可以了。定语从句才不管有没有Because of，只要有名词，就可能有定语从句修饰。 你是不是要变成这样： which is because of the merits which outweigh the demerits 那就不太好，因为有两个which
