hardly 一般放在动词,助动词,情态动词后,行为动词前.
此句正好就是放在情态动词后,行为动词前呀.
increasingly 在此句中修饰形容词large,所以就放在形容词前了.
此句中large后还应有一个词number.完整的句子为:
The narrow streets can hardly accommodate the increasingly large number of private cars.
句意:狭窄的街道很难容纳不断增多的私家车
