cost主语是物，宾语是人，比如the book cost me 30 dollars.
spend相反，主语是人，并且不及物，与介词on搭配表示花费在物品上，如果花时间做某事则用in，可以省略。如I spent 30 dollars on the book. I spent 3 hours (in) reading it.

cast 的主动者是物品,一般指花费的金钱 for example:the toy casts me 10 yuan。
spend 的主动者是人,可指金钱，时间，精力等 for example:i spent 3 hours to finish the work.
