A warning: the root must not be cut into smaller pieces.
要注意的是：根部务必不能切成小块.
请问must not be cut into smaller pieces. be 和Cut 都是动词,为什么有动词Cut ,前边还要加Be 动词?

e cut 是一个被动结构,the root 是被切成小块,而不是自己切.
must not （do sth）意为千万不要做...

前面加be是因为被动语态，看前面的主语就知道了。

cut这里是过去分词，和be构成被动语态。cut的原形、过去式、过去分词都是cut。
