The Wall Street Journal has an interesting article today about the quest for an effective strategy of marketing to cell phone users.Of particular interest to Mobile TV Review is the peek at MobiTV’s current slate of ads.MobiTV,which currently has about 500,000 subscribers is an attractive market,especially when you factor in the relatively miniscule cost of running ads on Mobile TV compared to the costs on regular television.
The article also touches on text message ads,which makes me wonder.When speeds are up to par,will we start getting little packets of video sent a la SMS?Sign up for services that target ads and beams them out immediately to individuals?Or perhaps even personal video/audio text messaging where you could record a little clip of yourself and send it to a friend.It’d be a lot more communicative than “omg i hv 2 tlk 2u–ttyl.”
