关于to和for
1.i brought a necklace to u.
2.my grandmother decides to buy one big birthday present for both of us.

for与to的区别:
In English, prepositions are used to indicate the relations between the predicate and its arguments. For,when used for this purpose, indicates the benefactive relation,i.e.some one who benefits from the event specified by the predicate. But TO is used to indicate the dative relation,i.e.the goal to which the action is directed.Compare the following two sentences:
(a) John gave a gift to his girlfriend.
(b) John gave his life for his country.
I like some bread and milk for breakfast.
What will we have for supper?
Thank you for helping me with my English.
Thank you for your last letter.
Thank you for teaching us so well.
Let me pick it up for you.
Watching TV too much is bad for your health.
I usually do the running for an hour in the morning.
We will stay there for two days.
Let’s go for a walk.
I came here for my schoolbag.
I paid twenty yuan for the dictionary.
It’s time for school.
Here is a letter for you.
Are you for this plan or against it?
Who are you waiting for?
For example,Mr Green is a kind teacher.

As it is raining, you'd better take a taxi. I went to see him, for I had something to tell him.
