以下是rather than主要三种用法：
1．跟情态动词would，should，will等连用构成固定搭配，有时rather than可以分开，意为“宁可”、“与其……倒不如”。例如：
1）He would rather beg in the streets than get money in such dishonest way．他宁愿在街上乞讨，也不愿以这种不正当手段赚钱。...

简单说：和rather 在一起的表述，就是。。。更接近的、更愿意；
