两个都是指到达,该怎么区别呢?还是可以随意混用?

看课文我一直以为“in the morning/afternoon/evening
at night/noon”这些是固定的词组,但今天又看到一篇文章写
“in the night”并且都是指“在夜里”请问没有什么区别么?
