是的.
这里必须得有一个指定代词才可以, 你可以用which, 也可以用that.
which 或that 就是代替前面的the sky, 如果没有which或that , 那".. once belongs to us" 就不是一个完整的定语从句了.

补充一下，which或that在从句中作为宾语是可以省略的，但在此句，which或that做的是主语，所以省略是错误的。
