According to a recent food survey by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA),most Europeans aren't overly concerned about 'food scares,' or food-related risks.When it came to the response to the threat of food scares,UK respondents(应答人）were less worried about all of the perceived food-related risks than their European counterparts(相对应的人或物）but were most concerned about the welfare of farmed animals and the quality and freshness of food.Only 29 percent of UK respondents thought that food could possibly damage their health,as opposed to 48 percent in the rest of the EU.UK respondents were also less likely to permanently change their eating habits after hearing that a type of food was unsafe from media stories (only seven percentas opposed to 11 percent in the rest of Europe).Asked how they respond to information on food-related matters communicated in the media or on the Internet,about half of the EU respondents said they ignored stories in the media or worried about them but did not change their eating habits.The findings provide an important resource for carrying out further research on the relation between trust in information source,confidence in public authorities and perception (看法）of food-related risks.
