Clause 5:Food accommodation Etc.
The ship to provide following to the seaman whilst he is in service
a)Sufficient food of good quality
b)Accommodation of adequate size and standard.
c)Necessary cutlery and crockery
Clause 6:Dismissal
In the event of seaman being dismissed before expiry of the term of his employment for reasons of gross misconduct,he shall be liable to pay all costs,of his repatriation to his home,and also for getting his replacement to join the vessel.
Clause 7:Beverages.
This is a dry vessel and no drinking of alcohol is allowed onboard.
Clause 8:Sickness,Hospitalization,Payment of wages in case of sickness.
Insurance against accidents shall be provided by the ship in accondance with the provision of clause 79 of the Tonga Merchant Shipping Act 11 of 1972.
Clause 9:Smuggling,Desertion,Naked lights and Smoking.
9.1 Smuggling is strictly prohibited.If any crewmember is convicted of any act of smuggling ,whereby loss,damage on delay has occurred to vessel,Master of Owner of the vessel,in addtion to the penalty imposed by the law enforcing authority the crew member shall be liable to pay to the vessel ,Master or Owner a sum sufficient to reimburse the loss,damage and/or delay.
9.2 Any and all expenses,fines fees every other in planned expenses incurred due to the desertion shall be changed to the deseter.
9.3 No naked lights shall be used except by the Mastey's approval.
Smoking is strictly prohibited except at time and places set by the Master.
9.4 It is strictly prohibited for any crewmember to carry on board liquors or any other alcoholic drinks or drugs.The Master is entitled and obliged to confiscate same and if appropriate turn the crewmember over to statutory authorities.
