may be是个词组,其中may是情态动词,而be是实义动词.这个词组可做谓语,而剩下的四个词都是副词,仅能够修饰句子或是动词什么的.现就其它四个词做介绍:
maybe 或许,比perhaps普通,但不够庄重;
probably 大概,肯定的成分较大,是most likely的意思
perhaps 也许,是也许如此也许不如此的意思,大体和possibly 同义
而possible是个形容词,与以上的词不具有可比性.
possibly 或者,常和can may must等情态动词连用,比probably的语气弱得多.
另外,还有likely一词.
likely 或许,通常与most very连用.
上述词中,除possible外,全为副词.
Perhaps the letter will come today. 或许那封信今天能到.
It will probably rain. 天很可能要下雨了.
I'll do all I possibly can. 我会做我可能做到的事.
It's clouding up. Maybe it'll rain this afternoon.天阴上来了, 今天下午也许有雨.

may be是“可能是”,后接表语.
