不知道是谁写的,我个人感觉这是中式英语,就像先写了中文然后拿Google翻译来翻译的英文.因为语序和语法都很奇怪.如果这真是老外写的,姑且可以按照一楼网友采纳的方式来解释.
as if 是好像的意思,但是是副词,只能接从句,不能接名词.例如 He is sleeping in the bed as if he is sick (他睡在床上,好像生病的样子).如果想说 像什么,直接说 be like 就行了.
那个 lighting up the sky 是伴随状语,起补充说明的作用.
to be 是 要成为、要被 的意思.他要变得遥不可及,这话不通.
这句话用英文起码应该这样说：
He is like a star lighting up the sky,but unattainable.
他就像照亮夜空的星星,但却遥不可及.

这句话拆开
He is to be unattainable. 这是主句
然后其他的就是插入语 其中lighting up the night sky 是修饰star的分句
至于为什么要用to be 可能是一种强调吧 说明他是被触摸不到的
