Considerable牛津词典里给出的解释是：great in amount ,size ,importance ,etc.而科林斯词典中给出的解释是Something that is considerable is large in amount or degree.不难发现considerable能用来形容数量,大小和程度.所以你可以说 the number of apples is considerable.但没有什么程度可言的单词如apple就无法用了,当然以上是取了considerable：相当大（多）的意思,
