为什么不能用having been separated ,如果要用,该怎么用呢

当然可以用!不同的表达方式而已：
Having been separated for many years,the mother and son recognized each other at first sight.

我的意思是说可不可以是though having been separated来取代原句，位置也不变。这是一道单选题，答案是separated

如果用 though，后面就不能用 having been 了。这就像把意义相近的中文词放在一起，啰嗦、累赘。比如，你不会说“尽管虽然分别多年”，是吧？这个句子不能改成你想象的那样。
