an office泛指"市中心的一家办公室",又因为office的发音以元音开头,所以用an而不用a

在本句中，couple是指two members of an intimate relationship，也就是两个关系亲密的人（情侣之类）。所以a是对应couple来说的，和前面的are没有关系。可以想象一下中文里我们说“一对情侣”的情况。
