不能直接用but also .但在这个句子中你可以把but删掉啊,这样就是正确的了.

个人觉得你句尾应该加点什么,比如：
Airplanes are the fastest but also the most expensive ways to travel.
搭乘飞机是最快的,也是最昂贵的旅行方式.
