不是，动名词即名词，如果v-ing也是动名词，我不会说两次。v-ing是动词的ing形式，不是指动名词

V-ing还是动词词性，不过动词加了ing，譬如这里：
You focus your attention on the reading，这里的reading是名词 “阅读，读书”
动名词是名词词性
You focus your attention on reading books，这里的reading是动词，read books “读书”，只是因为放在了介词后，所以要加ing

看语境的要。
举个例子：
如果你考试的卷子发下来了，你老师评论你的卷子，她会说：You should focus your attention on the reading. 意思是让你放更多注意力在卷子的阅读上（阅读部分）。
不加the的就更广义了。意思可以理解为放更多注意力在阅读上（而不是玩游戏playing，或者睡觉sleeping）。

your attention可以去掉
Focus On本身就是关注，集中注意力到XXXX地方。
the去掉，直接用reading。
You should focus on reading.就Ok。
