现在分词作状语时,其逻辑主语一般为句子的主语.
而此句的主语 the size of the crowd 不能做Entering the lecture Hall的逻辑主语,因此句子错了.
根据句意,Entering the lecture Hall应是"我"发出的动作,因此应用I 做句子的主语,并充当Entering the lecture Hall的逻辑主语,故全句改为:
Entering the lecture Hall,I was surprised at the size of the crowd .

Get what you can out of it, go on to something else. why should we insist that every child should read the same book and get the same scrap of undersdanding" out of it ? 句意: 尽可能从书中得到点收获，然后再去读其他书。为什么非要让每个孩子读一样的书，作出同样的"理解"呢? 语法点: 1.祈使句: Get what you can out of it, go on to something else是两个祈使句. 2.宾语从句:that every child should read the same book and get the same scrap of undersdanding" out of it 是宾语从句,做 insist的宾语. 3.虚拟语气:insist后的宾语从句,要使用虚拟语气,其谓动的形式为:should+动词原形.故句中的should read就是虚拟语气.

这里不定式直接表示被动的意思，不需要再用被动形式。
这种结构的名称叫什么我忘记了，但是很常见，比如：
English is easy to learn.就不会说easy to be learnt.
