Should we reproduce classic TV dramas nor not?
In recent years, it’s a common phenomenon that a growing number of classic TV dramas have been
reproduced. On this point, different people hold different views.
Some believe we should update classic TV dramas. Compared with the old versions, the new ones
have the advantage of new actors and beautiful pictures due to the advanced technology. Therefore, they
are able to catch people’s eye and encourage more people to get to know our history and culture.
Others, however, are against reproducing TV dramas. In their minds, many reproduced TV dramas
don’t respect the old versions and damage their good memories of the past. What’s more, many
reproduced dramas are just focused on quick success and big profits. They think, instead of copying,
directors should be creative enough to produce new series.
Personally, I do approve of reproducing Classic TV dramas. Everything should keep pace with the
times, including TV dramas. We need new versions to satisfy our need. As for the bad points of the
reproduced TV dramas, we should be more tolerant.
