关于宾补的构成，和句子成分的一些问题

in prisons是修饰placing 状语，to pay for what they have done是修饰them是补语（应该是

后面都是介宾短语做状语，一个句子里的状语数量是无限的，by+placing them 是一个介宾短语，in prisons 又是一个介宾，for what they have done还是一个介宾，全部做状语

不是宾补，是状语。

做宾补的成分必须是宾语发出的动作，或者宾语的身份、特征的。也就是宾语和宾语可以构成主谓宾或者主系表的句子。I find learning English difficult.（difficult是形容词做宾补）=I find that learning English is difficult.

有些动词的某些含义要求后面跟宾语+宾语补足语。也即是并不是所有的动词都要跟宾语补足语用来补充宾语。

by placing them in prisons   介词短语做整个句子的状语，表方式   ，由介词+其宾语构成

动词place sb/sth +地点（地点由地点副词或者表示地点的介词短语担当。如here,there, in prison, on the desk）

placing 做介词by 的宾语，所以用动名词形式。

to pay for what they have done.    目的状语，由动词不定式+其宾语构成。

 what they have down 这个宾语从句 做pay for 这个动词短语的介词for的宾语

主句+方式状语by placing them in prisons+目的状语to pay for what they have done.
