1、原句的错误在于,用逗号和and看似隔开了两个并列的句子,但第二个句子并不是合格的句子,因为of whom没有着落处,其实还有一种更简单的改法可以使整句话基本合乎语法,那就是去掉and,让the most venturesome of whom...做定语从句,修饰the villagers.（类似于 I had five cups,the most useful of which is the one in my office.) 但这样写的话villagers和它的定语之间被谓语（went skating）隔开了,显得很不顺,所以推荐的改法是with + sb +doing的常见状语形式.
2、the most venturesome 是省略了名词的名词性短语,和He is the tallest of the 20 boys.是一样的,一般可以把这种情况理解为省略了one/ones.
