1.mental health of university students
There is no doubt that china has grow up rapidly during more than 30 years, which is too rapid to adapt to ,especially the new generation with the great social pressure .Under the big environment, Chinese college students have more and more mental problems, that means they have low mental health.
Generally speaking, health can be divided into three parts---physical health, mental health and adaptability of society, and at some sense, adaptability of society can be included in mental health.
Mental health, compared with physical health, refer to the active and positive condition of inner being. There is a general survey that shows that, of 100 college students, about 10 students have seriously considered committing suicide, and about 45 students say they are so depressed, and more than 30 freshmen feel overwhelmed a lot of free time.
I talked mainly from the campus environment to solve the mental problem; in fact, a college student’s mental health is caused of many reasons. In addition to the campus environment, there are social environment, and family environment. Compared with social environment, family environment is more important to human being’s personality. Family environment makes people special, and hold different personality.
Another reason that causes college students’ mental health is individual’s personality. Individual’s personality is more variable than environment. It can be shaped in later. College students as young, accept new ideas easily, and also change the personality easily. College students are supposed to have following personality: Firstly, good habits of life. College students should live in order. Doing exercise and eat on time. Secondly, good relationships with others. College students should open their hearts to others, with hot heart, talking and helping each other. Thirdly, optimistic attitude. College students should have an idea that there must be sunny days and cloudy days. The road of life is not plain. And when college students face to the difficulty, they should try to get over, not escape, and always hold a belief that everything will be ok.
Forming one’s own personality and adding to the big environment, with an ordinary heart are the tools to keep the college students’ mental health.
2.competition and cooperation
Competition is a common phenomenon in our society . We compete when we play games, we try to do better than others in our study, and there is constant competition for jobs, fame, wealth and so forth. Therefore,we can say that, in a certain sense, competition is one of the motive forces of the development of our modern society.
It is often believed, that competition and cooperation are in opposition to each other. Some people stress competition, without which, in their eyes, there is no responsibility, no drive and ultimately, no progress. Others advocate cooperation whatever they do. They are of the opinion that the dependence of people on one another has increased, without which the society we live in can not keep going smoothly. In reality, we find that in many cases competition goes hand in hand with cooperation. Lets take a football game for example. During the game, one team is competing against the other, but each member of the team must cooperate with his teammates. Otherwise, they would lose the game no matter how skillful each individual player might be. It is clear that competition has much to do with cooperation.
As far as I'm concerned, I do not agree with the view that competition and cooperation are always in conflict with each other. In my opinion, while advocating competition. We should never forget cooperation. In our social life, cooperation is especially necessary because most work is fulfilled with or through other people. So Ive come to the conclusion that competition are equally important.
3 love and duty

Ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon! It is a great honor for me to stand here and give you a brief speech.
Today, I ` d like to show my personal viewpoint upon love and duty. To begin with, I want to ask you some questions. What`s love? What`s the meaning of duty? I `ve looked them up in the dictionary which says that “love” means strong feelings of attraction towards and affection for another adult. “Duty” means something that you feel is the right thing to do. Do you agree with this definition?
As everyone knows, it is likely that everybody in the world is loving or being loved by someone else. Then, what`s the relationship between love and duty? In my opinion, I believe that duty comes from love and love cannot live without duty.
On one hand, there is love, there is duty. According to a recent survey, about 78% of the college students think that love and duty should exist together at the same time.
Once upon a time, there was an old man visiting his wife in the nursing home every morning, just to have breakfast with her, who had got Alzheimer`s. Despite the fact that the wife no longer remembered who he was, the old man still visited her with the thought that “Although She doesn`t know me, I know who she is .” Obviously, we can draw the conclusion that duty is from love, and love is duty.
On the other hand, love without duty is incomplete. For example, if A loves B, while A doesn`t want to take his responsibility for this love, we can certainly say that it is not true love. Of course, this love never lasts long.
To prove my idea better, I will take my friend`s personal experience as an example. Once a friend of mine told me that the relationship between her and her boyfriend was broken up. I asked, ”Why?” She replied,” I don`t need someone to love me who doesn`t care about me, for he is not responsible. I don`t want a love which is not true.” I think she has made a correct choice. The love without duty is sure to be dull.
Therefore, love is not an individual. No duty, no love.
Whether you are a woman or man, old or young, whether you are longing for love or disappointed in love, whether you are loving or being loved by somebody else, whether the love is due to your daily work or the society, the people or the nation, you had better remember that: love is duty, and duty comes from love. Love and duty is everywhere during our lifetime!
