我怎么感觉选，因为先起床才能走路阿，走路应该将来一些阿。

句子选C,楼上选C的是对的.
The old man got up just before sunrise to walk along the beach and breathe the fresh air.
因为有and breathe,说明所填内容必须与之时态一致,as he often did只不过是插入语.

got up, walked along the beach和breathe the fresh air是一系列的动作啊，所以都是用一般过去式。
是先起床啊，但是到海滩散步和呼吸新鲜空气也都是发生在过去啊。
只是一个动作先后的问题。
又如：
I got up at seven, washed my face , had my breakfast ...

选C。
as he often did是插入语，breathe一词的形式是突破口
如果选A的话，时态不对（可从breathe看出）
选B表示伴随状语，有正在进行的意思，不可能一边起床并且正在散步。而且与breathe不符
选D表示已经散步过了再起床，并且与breathe形式不符...

应该是 C
中间有 and, 所以 walk 是和 breathe 并列的, 必须都用现在时.
整句就成为 The old man got up .... to walk and breathe ....
