The Differences between Haikus and Five-line Poems
A Haiku and a Five-line Poem are two similar old forms of poetry, but meanwhile they have some differences. Now let me tell you something about their differences. Haikus are from Japan, while Five-line Poems come from America. Haikus are about nature, especially a particular season, while Five-line Poems are about a single topic. Besides, they follow different patterns. A Haiku often has three lines. Each line has a set number of syllables, The first line has five syllables, the middle one has seven lines and the last one has five lines again. As for a Five-line Poem, it has five lines. Each line has a set number of words. The first line has one word ; the second one has two; the third line has three; the fourthhas four and the last one has one word again.
