keep up with和catch up with 都有赶上某人,使自己不落后的意思,但前者注重保持此时状态,而后者注重超越此时状态而赶上别人.eg.Your English is terrible ,if you do not work hard,you will not catch up with others.eg.I must work hard ,or I will not keep up with my classmates.

keep有保持的意思而catch有抓住的意思，Keep up with就是跟上、紧跟的意思， Catch up with有抓住什么、赶上什么的意思，想到常用come up with
