What were you up to when she dropped in?意思是她过来拜访的时候你在忙什么?应该选B,表示玩了一段时间之后正要读书.A的意思是玩了玩了一段时间之后又读书了会儿书,显然从时态上不符合.

第一个空格显然应是过去完成时，就不多说了。第二个空格是个难点，注意题干中的what are you up to。。是你准备干什么的意思，所以此处用过去将来时更恰当。
