1、第一题的错误在于Because of的用法错误,因为按照一般情况,Because of后面要跟名词化的句子,而不是动名词.比如出现because of the maintainance等等,Because of后面的成分要尽可能短小,如果需要表达很多内容,请尽可能使用for,since或者because.您的这一句就可以改写为Because of vain plead for improved maintenance...,这样就是可以的.或者您可以直接把后半个句子掉到前面来,接上since the pleading for improved maintenance is in vain.
2、第二题中,您想的是where you have been和what you account of并列,但是这样不正确,因为account是解释的意思,what you account of和activities的搭配不对,应该是account for.而后者的give me和tell me是能够并列的两个句子,用and连接起来了.
3、第三题中的问题在那个whom上面,注意whom是用在从句中的,而您给的句子中没有从句.应该吧whom改为they就可以了.注意到这句话根据从句的要求还可以改写为the villagers,the most venturesome ones,went skating...使用同位语,这样也可以.
