The Olympic Games 后为什么用 is 而不用are 呢？ 我在词典上看到这样一个句子：The olympics are held every four years. 还有这样一句：In 776 B.C,the first ancient Olympic Games were held at Olympia in ancient Greek.

这里的 奥运会是一个专属名词，当作一个整体来用，所以用单数。词典上这么用也是有争议的说法。如果是考试题目的话还是要看当地命题人的看法是怎样，从而确定标准。
