ONCEtherewas a king who gave his daughter a beautiful diamond necklace.The necklace was stolen.The king put out a $50,000 reward for anyone who could find it.
One daya man was walking home beside a dirty,smelly river.The man saw something shimmering (闪光) in the river – the diamond necklace.He decided to try and catch it so that he could get the reward.He put his hand in the river and grabbed (抓住) at the necklace,but somehow he couldn’t catch it.Then he walked into the river and put his whole arm in – but still missed the necklace!Now he decided to jump into the river.He searched everywhere in the dirty water,yet failed again.He came out,frustrated that he would not be getting the $50,000.
