· A dip spin method has been used to assess the pick up.
The method used was as follows:
· The nets were thoroughly wet out in cold water for ten minutes with agitation and then hydro extracted ( spun dried ) for exactly two minutes – each net had exactly the same wetting time and spinning time.
· From these results,the pick up of the nets was determined as 25%.
IF the treatment is done as described above,you will need to re-check under your own conditions at the factory what pick up you get – your spinner may be more or less severe than ours and so you should recheck before moving into bulk treatment.If the pick up varies on your equipment,we should adjust the recipe accordingly.
· Our Vital Protection technology is applied at 2%.
· Therefore at this pick up you would need 80 g/L of product in the mix.
The mix can be continually used until the liquor is used up but we would need to know the total weight of nets to be treated to give a required amount of VP 1.The treatment mixture must be used all at one time and not stored overnight for reuse.
For example if you have 1,000Kg of made nets to process then at 2% add on of chemical at 25% pick up this will require 20Kg of product used at 80 g/l in a total of 250 L of application mixture.
However there must be some additional liquor to ensure that the nets wet out thoroughly and I would suggest that in the above mentioned scenario,you would need to have at least 300 L of mix as an operational minimum so at 80g / L = 24Kg of chemical.
I would also recommend that if the nets to be treated are of various colours the light colours should be done first followed by the darker colours to avoid cross staining on treatment.
The treated nets can be dried via either hang drying or tumble drying.
