Beauty in Simplicity, Entity in Frugality - Simplism in Exhibition Design
Abstract:
In view of the present situation in exhibition design, this paper suggests that the designing style of simplism be applied to exhibition design. In the current exhibition activities, the exhibitors and designers merely pursue the format, in order to highlight their tastes and it usually becomes a formality; resulting in escalating costs of materials and energy. Besides, visitors are confused and their information receptions and selection process are affected by this kind of interference; ultimately, the exhibition effects and the conveying of information are unsatisfactory, causing big wastage in terms of resources and information. The design concept of simplism points directly to the essence of things; it eliminates the complicated elements and allows the attention of the audiences easily focus on the products and the corporate image, this is exactly needed by exhibiton design. From here it extends to how to achieve beauty in simplicity and entity in frugality.
