it was.that还可以是强调句!你这句话应该是强调句!但我觉得it was may day that everyone was free when we got a together这句话你应该打错些东西,翻译起来不太通顺.
it is ...that...句型 有三种 情况
1 主语从句 it是形式主语 that从句是 真主语
如 it is a good news that you pass the exam.
　　意为：你通过考试这件事是个好消息.
　　That后引导的整句话做主语,is是be动词作系动词,a good news 作表语.用It做形式主语是为了避免主语太长,头重脚轻,所以用it做形式主语放前,真正主语放后面.
3 强调句型 it is...that 都是虚词,意思是删除也不影响句子结构成分.
it is 加强调部分 加 that 加其他 判断依据 就是把 it is/was ...that 去掉 句子完整
