表原因的介词短语：as a result of,due to,owing to,thanks to,on accroun

because of, due to , on account of , owing to , thanks to , as a result of ,等都可以用来表示原因,但其用法却各有不同.
due to“由于,因…造成”,按照传统语法：due to主要引导表语,但是在现代英语中,due to也可用来引导状语（此时不用于句首）,也可作定语.
His illness is due to bad food.他生病是由于吃了不好的食物.
Accidents due to driving at high speed were very common that weekend.在那个周末因高速驾驶造成的交通事故很多.
Joe’s application to the University was not accepted due to his failing English.乔因英语不及格申报那所大学没被录取.
另：“Due to”means "cause by", It should only be used if it can be substituted with "caused by". It does not mean the same thing as "because of ",

It means: because of something else, especially a problem or difficulty

owing to 主要在句中作状语,有时作表语；做状语时,习惯上用逗号和句子其他部分分开.
