Jitendra et al.,[7]proposed cue integration in image segmentation by using an operational definition of textons,the putative elementary units of texture perception and an algorithm for partitioning the image into disjoint regions of coherent brightness and texture.The method finds boundaries of regions by integrating peaks in contour orientation energy and differences in texton densities across the contour by cue integration.
