John is the cleverer of the two boys.
John is the more polite of the two boys.
这两句话对么?
He is cleverer than the other boy.这个就不用在比较级前面加the了么?

以上两个句子是对的,在含有of the two boys.这样的短语中,比较级前要加 the 表示的是两个中较.的一个.
这个句子的来源是,Of all the students ,he is the best .
Of the two students ,he is the better .
He is cleverer than the other boy 这个句子没有of 短语,比较级前一般都不会用the .
