是later on.later作副词用,是“更晚些、后来、以后”等意,在句尾一般可以通用,但其它位置,只能用“later”.
是这么回事唆,那不能去掉,因为on 后省略了它的宾语,即“this piece of paper”.

it is big enough for me to write letter on
它（的大小）足够我写一封信了。
理解为 for me to write letter on （it/the paper）
on 表示在纸上，介词 ，一定要加
