Good morning,ladies and gentleman.I'm deeply troubled about the present situation of our environment.
Now,let's imagine what the future South Pole may look like.A single penguin stands on a floating piece of ice ,the only thing that is surrounding him is the endless ocean.No other friends or families.
What pushes the penguins into such deep despair?Penguins,these lonely black and white birds are now suffering from the global warming,which is considered as the main cause of the decrease in penguin population.
However,there are still far more destructive strikes to the earth in the world .The rising of the temperature has left the penguins in a terrible situation of living that has never happened.At the same time,millions of trees are cut down,many species are permanently disappearing from the earth.
The earth,our mother,has nurtured our ancestors,our fathers and now us.She has laid her great love on us,but what are we doing to repay her?Severe pollution,fast deforestation,slaughter of animals,exploding population and abuse of natural resources.With each day passing,the earth ails more and more.We no longer affront the environment with great awe as the ancient people did.
Throughout the past centuries,we have been sacrificing the nature to make money.The nature's revenge to us is also harsh.The influence caused by contaminate is very colossal.So,if we want to live,if we want the sustainable development,take action immediately.What we expect is more forests and more clean water.What the earth expects to see is that we live in harmony with nature.
As students,we should spare no efforts to protect the environment.Collect used batteries,plant more trees or just cherish every living thing around us.
When we try our best to preserve nature,the trampled prairies will get well conserved,the bare mountains will be covered with green trees and the wasted rivers will take on a new look.
Though the paradox between natural preservation and economic growth is sometimes inevitable,we may make it possible to keep a balance between man and nature.
So,let's shake hands now as friends to heal the planet which we rely on,the planet which used to be our paradise at one time.
Save our only home,start at once.
