During high school times,students were acquainted with basic knowledge,sometimes are just foundations and tools for our future study,conversely,although college study also include general subjects,it offers some professional training in many areas of specialty.Let me take some examples,civil engineering ,a important major which can only be deeply studied in college,almost all high schools have not offered such courses in this area,even if some did,it is a basic intro course,so ,those students who interested in civil engineering would go to college or university to seek the knowledge of this field.In word,any further study of some specialties begin at college or university.
Another equally important reason is to securing job opportunity.A great many undergraduate attend college every year in china,many of them,largely due to the difficulty of finding job without a bachelor’s degree.For instance,some high-tech companies prefer individuals whit higher education,even a not very skilled position such as typist,may ask for a bachelor’s degree of the lowest requirement.For those person,they might have a willing to work after high school,but under that condition,many have no choice but to go to college or university.
Finally,there is a reason which seems ridiculous but a fact that many students attend college or university just since the were ignorance.There are a huge number of learners like those in my society,they make decisions without a contemplation.As an illustration,some go to college,to some extent,for the simple reason that they found others have been or will be at it,so they followed,or their parents asked them to do this and they followed this instruction without any thinking of their own.Therefore,you can see ignorance as another cause of attending college or university.
