No man can change the weather.But if we read the sign(标志)correctly,we can tell what the more important changes in the weather will be.This way of telling what the weather will be like in the following day or two is called weather forecasting(天气预报).People who do this are not making the weather.Ther are only using their knowledge of the weather today,to tell us what the weather may be like tomorrow We all understand how important this is.How useful it is if the farmers know in advance(事前)whether it is going to rain or not.If they know in advance,they can make plans to fit in with(适应)the weather.They know when to plant and when not to plant,when to collect(收割)and when not to collect crops(谷物).
Not only farmers but scientists have studied weather forecasting.People for many centuries and in all countries have studied the weather and tried to make weather forecasts.
