这是宾语从句。从句语序错了，应该要和陈述句语序一样才对,而且主句是一般过去时，所以从句也要一般过去时啊。
改正如下:
I asked him who that boy was in the playground.
而且在特指那个男孩的情况下，一般用定冠词the,
所以这个句子这样会更好
